Sept 17, 2009: Opening night wine and appetizer mixer. This evening get-together will review the agenda for the coming academic year and provide an opportunity to meet and welcome some new members and many returning members.

Sept 25, 2009: Dr. Sonia Leziy & Dr. Brahm Miller (full day lecture) "An architectural plan for creating ideal esthetics: a plan and vision for success and change" 

Conventional concepts in aesthetic restorative treatment generally focus on establishing ideal tooth form and colour. Often overlooked is the challenging interplay with the surrounding gingival framework.  An understanding of how to treat and enhance tissue form in conjunction with conventional restorative and implant treatment is a crucial element to a highly successful esthetic result.

Oct 30, 2009: Dr. David Schwab (full day lecture) "How to take your practice to the next level"

Nov 26, 2009: VIP Treatment Planning Session (evening session) Featuring VIP Study Club member cases (Dr. Ross Fraser and Dr. Kris Klimek).

These sessions are designed to improve organization of case documentation, diagnosis and treatment planning,  and patient case presentation. This session is of great value with our interdisciplinary team treatment planning approach.

Jan 15, 2010: Dr. Avishai Sadan (full day lecture) "Comprehensive esthetic dentistry - from risk assessment to a recipe for success"

This course will benefit dentists and technicans who are interested in gaining useful knowledge related to contemporary clinical techniques and treatment approaches in esthetic dentistry and fixed prosthdontics. It will be very useful for those who feel lost by constant bombardment of new materials and all ceramic systems as it will provide a logical approach to understanding the nature of those materials.

Mar 5, 2010: Mini-Clinic Session. (full day session) "hands-on and over-the-shoulder sessions" with Dr. Leziy, Dr. Miller, Dr. Hicks, and Dr. Olesen.

 April 23, 2010: Dr. Ken Malament (full day lecture) "Integration of esthetic dentistry and prosthodontics"

Understanding methods to manage simple and complex restorative issues are critical to improving patient acceptance and even long term ceramics success. Methods to intergrate the efforts of laboratory technologists and managing occlusion and patient's desires can have a profound impact in the practice of dentistry.

Evening event for VIP affiliated hygienists with Penny Hatzimanolakis, Dip D.H. BDSc. MSc. RDH

Ms.Hatzimanolakis graduated from Vancouver Community College's Dental Hygiene program in 1994 and has since received her Bachelor of Dental Science and Masters through the faculty of Dentistry at University of BC. She currently works in a periodontal specialty practice and teaches at UBC as clinical instructor for the undergraduate dental clinic.

Designed for VIP Hygienists only! Ms. Hatzimanolakis will help participants critically evaluate literature related to oral health and periodontal disease, and apply principles of evidence-based practice in case analysis.

Dr. Cohen received his dental degree from McGill University in Montreal in 1976 and his MSD and Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Washington in 1976. He has authored numerous articles on continuing education and has lectured nationally and internationally over the past 20 years. He maintains a private practice limited to periodontics and implants in Seattle, Washington.

The Seattle Study Club (SSC) is the brain child of Dr. Cohen. This "university without walls" has 207 different clubs and over 200 directors and over 6,000 members around the world.
